Condo-Hotels for Pretty People
May 08, 2008
By Hellen
Nikki Beach’s tepees have long been South Beach icons. Now they are marking the first resort for the Miami-based company, known for its chain of beach clubs. The first phase of the sold-out condo-hotel, the Nikki Beach Resort, Turks & Caicos Islands, opened last month with 48 rooms and suites. Amenities include a Nikki Beach Club with full dinner menu, VIP bottle service, poolside opium beds and private cabanas, an “ultra lounge” and Café Nikki. It also features such niceties as 24-hour concierge service, a private butler or personal assistant for every guestroom, and entertainment and beach parties “with the most beautiful people in the islands.” The 110-slip Turks & Caicos Yacht Club Marina, a new mega-yacht complex that claims to be the world’s first eco-marina designed and built to protect and preserve the ecosystem, is ready for boats up to 200 feet.
Phase Two, due to open in 2010, will consist of 110 condo-hotel units ranging from 650 square feet to 3,939 square feet and priced, pre-construction, from $761 per square foot to $1,600 per square foot. Additional amenities will include a 16,000-square-foot Nikki Beach spa and fitness center and a casino.
The second Nikki Beach resort is due to open at Playa Blanca in Panama next March.
